My name is LeAndria Black but I go by LA. All my life I played sports including basketball, volleyball, and softball. I have always loved the idea of being physically challenged in each and every game I participated in.
During my first year of college I started to notice my body changing. I went from being active and training everyday to not being active at all. I figured I could still eat the way I was eating and my body would remain the same; but boy was I wrong! When I was in college, I wanted to earn a degree in being a Physical Therapist but, I was not as happy as I thought I would be. Soon after I realized that I was more interested in Athletic Training. I figured being an athlete my whole life, I would be able to connect to other athletes; but I was wrong. Instead, I decided to pursue a career in Personal Training because I wanted to help women build confidence in themselves as they mentally, physically, and spiritually challenge their bodies!
Growing up I was consistently made fun of for having muscular arms. It made me not like my body. Our society fills our minds with thoughts that the perfect look is skinny with a flat stomach, and no muscles. That is the image society says a woman should look like which results in women not feeling confident about their bodies and how beautiful they are. But as the beautiful women we are, we all look different, all kinds of shapes and sizes and so that is why I enjoy helping women to learn to love their bodies and to help them build strength and create good healthy habits.
In 2020, I started my personal training business to educate women on the importance of strength training, proper nutrition habits without restrictions, and the importance of mobility training with proper range of motion. The number 1 reason I built my business was to build CONFIDENCE in women; in and out of the gym! So whether it be through a consultation call, personal training session, and or a social media post; I want to be able to educate and inspire all women I come into contact with!
I believe knowledge is important in this ever changing fitness industry. I will always continue to keep up to date with the new information in regards to strength training, nutrition, and corrective exercise!
